Blessings

Cody insisted we needed to make a trip to Logan, UT to see Grandma Buttars. Grandma has had a rough patch medically as well as Cody. Grandma had her 4th surgery since May and Cody insisted he needed to see her. Once again Cody put others feelings and well being above his own and had to make the trip to make sure Grandma was okay. So Mom, Cody, Stacy and I headed out on Friday for a quick trip.

It was a rough trip especailly since Cody isn't feeling well. He has lots of pain and nausea and knew this trip would be hard but he said it would be worth it.....and it was! To see Cody and Grandma crumble into each others arms when they saw each other, each knowing the struggles the other has been going through was both heartwarming and heartwrenching. This was a much needed trip not only for Cody but for Grandma as well. I have to say that we have one of the most loving families. The love and support was a huge comfort to all. We are all truly blessed!

While there Mom asked Grandpa, Uncle Keven, and Uncle Todd to give both her and Cody a blessing to help them have peace and strength to deal with these difficult times. They gave such beautiful prayers to each of them the whole room was in tears. Thank you Grandpa, Keven, and Todd! I hope you know how much your prayers meant.

A little about the Cancer

Desmoplastic Small Round Cell Tumor, also know as DSRCT, is considered a childhood cancer that is predominantly found in boys and young adults. It is an extremely rare, highly aggressive cancer that is usually found as masses in the abdomen. Desmoplastic small round cell tumor is frequently misdiagnosed which is why the prognosis remains poor. This is an aggressive, rare, fast spreading tumor.

There is no standard protocol for treatment but it usually includes aggressive Chemotherapy, Radiation, and Surgery.

Thank you to Connors Drilling and all of the employees. Connors asked the employees, Russ's co-workers, for a voluntary paycheck deduction that would go to Cody's Cancer Fund. A big thank you to all the many generous people who participated. Thanks to you a good chunck of money was raised to help with Cody's medical costs.
