Acoustic Summer Concert Series

Ty and I had been talking about having summer concerts at our house before we heard about Cody's cancer. As soon as we heard, we knew that those concerts were meant to be, and they were to be for him. We asked our close musician friends to donate their time and talent to entertain and bring people to the benefit and they were all very happy to do so. us (Melody and Tyler), Half Cowboy, Kole, Ashlee Dickson, Mason Jones, McKail Seely, and Brett Turner were generous enough to come play, and friends and family brought food, drinks, crafts to sell/for donation and Ty ran the BBQ. The final week Janae (Cody's mom) came and hung out with us, and was able to meet the artists. It was really touching to have her there, and to get to spend some quality time with our friends and family. We both feel that this was one of the most amazing experiences we have ever had. People were so giving wih their donations, and some of the artists showed up with wads of cash to put in the bucket. The final concert was bittersweet because we loved having such great people come to our house, share good music and food, and band together to help someone in need, but it was a lot of work. We truly feel that the Nielson family is deserving of all the good things in life, and have Cody in our hearts and prayers. We wish you could have joined us bud. One day, we will have another concert in your honor when you have beat this and you're chillin on our front yard on a camping chair :D
